First Tarot Deck?

Recommended Posts

Crystal Wolf

This subject came up in chat yesterday so I thought I would post about it.

Here at Soul-Development we are great believers in the Rider Waite decks. They are easy to read with a picture on every card.

Rider = the printer

Waite = AE Waite (Arthur Edward Waite) the author

PCS  = Pamela Coleman-Smith the artist.

There are many versions of the deck that was first published in December 1909.

The Original Rider Waite

The Rider Waite

The Radiant Waite

The Golden Waite

The Commemorative Waite

The Universal Waite  (not to be confused with the Universal tarot)

So you should be able to find one that feels right for you.

Of course if you just want to get a deck and not take part in our courses then that is fine and up to you, but I really do want to emphasise that these decks make a great starting point in learning the Tarot and a firm foundation.

Thanks for this Crystal,  Did you say yesterday in chat the original deck was best to start with if joining a course?

Not exactly, it depends on the course of course lol. but here our courses are Waite based. But then again there are many alternatives, I always post a picture of the card so anyone can join in and one can always draw and make one's own too :)
